Behind the Eye

I've been a fan of newspapers and newspaper reporting for as long as I've been a fan of the Chiefs and Royals — since I was a little kid. I've always appreciated the importance, strength, and lastingness of the written word.

Every Sunday before Chiefs games, my brother and I would fight over who got to read the Kansas City Star's sports page first. While having very contrasting styles, Jason Whitlock and Joe Posnanski quickly became something like heroes to me. Sports journalism became a dream of mine.

The KC Eye is a step toward that dream. Or maybe it is the dream. I do know that it is my outlet to help polish my writing ability while (hopefully) connecting with people. I enjoy writing more than anything in the world. It's my passion.

I cannot express enough to you, the reader, my gratitude for your time and willingness to read what I have to say. Thank you so much, and enjoy!
